A WOMAN
I see a woman sitting on a chair
A woman with a silver hair
I look at her from up here
She glares at me like a bear

I heard she faced a lot of despair
She lost a precious and special daughter
A daughter that’s like a diamond for her
The only that she gave a lot of care

VENGEANCE IS NOT OURS, IT’S GOD’S

It is a declamation piece that tells us about the story of a man, named Oscar, who suffered for five years with her mother. It started when his father was arrested by cruel Nippon. His father wasn’t even able to say goodbye to them. Oscar and her mother followed them mile after mile. They became ragged, hungry and thirsty. They passed a group of Japanese people eating. They loved to have some of those fruits that they’re eating. Then, suddenly, they heard a voice. They ran towards the direction of the voice. They were shocked of what they’ve seen. Oscar’s father was hanging on a tree and was beaten terribly to death.  Oscar’s father died and they cried their hearts out. His mother became weak. They wander from place to place. There was a war that time. They were heading to their hide-out when bombs started falling and his mother got hit. He took her into his arms and cried out. And promise to revenge but his mother told him that vengeance is God’s. His mother died and he was left alone without food or anything. And he was begging for alms.

where's the PATiS?

The story tells us the dream of the Filipinos to travel abroad. It is entitled “Where’s the Patis” because Filipinos might enjoy the pleasure of outside countries, however, they realize in the end that it is more fun in the Philippine
To travel is one of the greatest dreams of the Filipinos. It is in the search for pleasures they have not experienced in the Philippines. They wanted to visit America, to have a glimpse of the Colosseum of Rome and etc. Without knowing, leaving Philippines is not very much enjoyable especially when you planned to live abroad for a very long time. Let’s say that they may enjoy living abroad because they have experienced wearing western suits, able to earn a lot of money but compared to the lifestyle we have here in the Philippines, I think it is more fun in here. It is because, in the Philippines, we have here some cuisine that I’m sure the fascinating world don’t have such as the juicy Lapu-Lapu, dishes cooked out from usa, escargots and snails, and the most desired thing that completes the mealtime and fulfills the satisfaction of every Filipinos, the rice which abroad doesn’t always serve especially those in western countries. Another thing, Philippines also has patis which abroad world doesn’t have. And most importantly, the Filipino traits such as being lovable, respectful, the use of “opo” which is not practiced outside the country is something we should be proud of.
As a proud Filipino, I would not choose greener pasture provides by the fascinating world, “abroad” over Philippines because of those things I mentioned above. However, this does not mean that I won’t travel abroad. I would also like to travel abroad to gain some knowledge and I would not forget the knowledge, love, honor I gain here.

Blah Blah Blah ~ My Self :D

I am Rohanifah P. Sultan. My friends call me “Ro” but my relatives call me “Babat”, which mean fat. Well, don’t wonder because I am fat.  I am 18 years of age. I was born on April 19, 1995 in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur, Philippines. I’m a daughter of Rocaya and Ismail Sultan. I am tall and have pinkish white skin but it doesn’t mean that I’m an American or something. I am a pure Filipino-Muslim. People often mistook me as an American.  Pardon me if I sound like I was bragging but I was just telling the truth. Hahaha.. :D just kidding. I know what you’re thinking; it’s not funny, is it? ….  I am not intelligent but I’m not dull either. I love my parents. I really love ice cream. I prefer home-made spaghetti. Why?  I don’t know.. What else do I love? Well, I guess, I love everything that surrounds me. ;)
I hope you don’t mind my grammar. I don’t usually express my thoughts in English, post it online and have it criticize by other people because I know I have very poor language skills when it comes to English. But, I have no choice because our teacher required us to create a blog and post in it.

Anyway, thanks for spending your time or for WASTING your time reading my boring thoughts. hehe. God Bless You ! <3

THE WORLD IS AN APPLE – my SUMMARY

It is a story about a man, named Mario, who suffered in extreme poverty, so, he walked through the sinful road. He steals with his friends to experience pleasures. He gained a lot of money from it. However, he changed when he met Gloria who is a pious woman and he became his husband. Gloria, despite of Mario’s past, she accepted him because she believed that Mario will change. Indeed, Mario had changed. He chose a legal job. For four years, his family suffered in poverty but, Mario never went back to the life he had before, because he knew that his wife will get angry, until such time God tested his faith. His daughter, Tita, fell ill because she has not eaten anything nutritious. And because of this, he was forced to steal an apple for when he took his daughter for a walk, they passed a grocery store that sold delicious apple as they’re on their way home. His daughter wanted him to buy one but he couldn’t because he has no enough money that time. What he did is he buys her one of small green apples they sell on the sidewalk, but she just threw it away, saying it was not a real apple. And for an apple, he lost his job. He did not inform his wife about it because he wanted her not to worry. He looked for another job but he never found one, so, he approached his friend, Pablo, and told him that he will join their group again. He was tired to do good things. He wanted his family to have a beautiful life, so, he chooses to return to the life he had before, the stealing. One day, he arrived home. His wife slips her finger to take some money to buy Tita a biscuit, but Mario was annoyed and moved away from his wife. Then, they began to quarrel. Gloria was asking some of the money from his pay but Mario insisted that he has none. Mario told her that he spent it all for a woman and a drinks but Gloria didn’t believe in it. So, Mario told her everything. Gloria got angry after hearing it. But, Mario told her that he had found a good job and his going to meet someone. Gloria then became glad after hearing it, not until Pablo showed up. She hated Pablo because Pablo was one of Mario’s friends who do illegal things. Pablo offered some money to Gloria but, Gloria did not accept it.  Pablo came to their house to fetch Mario because he thought that Mario would change his mind. He even told Gloria about Mario willing to work with him. Gloria was shocked and she insisted that Mario wouldn’t do such things like that because she knew that Mario knew anything that makes her angry. But, Mario confirmed it to her that what she heard is true and that he only wanted what is good to his family. Gloria convinced him not to go and reminded him of God. But, Mario never listens to her. He told her to take good care of herself and that he will be home safely. Gloria was then left crying with her daughter.
